The effect of zinc and iron on chlorophyll content and enzymatic activities was examined in wheat varieties. Application of lower doses of zinc (20 kg ZnSO4/ha) and iron (20kg FeSO4/ha), applied singly, was most effective in improving chlorophyll content of leaves. The activities of catalase and nitrate reductase increased with increasing levels of iron, but zinc had marked effect upto 20kg ZnSO4/ha.
