Abstract

Individual and combined application (s) of sulphur (@ 40,0 and 80.0 mg kg−1) and iron) (@ 15.0 and 20.0 mg kg−1) in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr), Var PK- 237, grown in sandy loam soil of Varanasi have shown a significant increase in total leaf area, total number of branches, total chlorophyll content, number of nodules, total dry matter production, number of pods, length of pods, number of seed per pod, test weight of 100 seeds and seed protein content as compared to control plants. Leaf senescence was found to be delayed during the seed development stage due to the individual as well as combined application (s) of sulphur and iron at various concentrations, which might be one of the reasons for improved yield attributes.
