Abstract

The effect of IAA, IBA, ICA and Indole at various concentrations on the germination of T. effusa swarmers, growth of the alga, time of initiation and the number of reproductive organs were studied under white light or red light. The most effective concentrations to accelarate growth and reproduction of alga were 10-8M and 10-7M for IAA, IBA, Indole and 10-5M for ICA. Indole was the most effective chemical for early induction whereas IAA was beneficial for increased growth and number of sporangia.
