Abstract

In order to find out the potassium absorption pattern of eleven groundnut varieties, a study was conducted on loamy sand soil contained in bitumen drums to which N, P and K were added @ 20, 25 and 60 ppm in the form of urea, MCP and potassium sulphate. The results revealed that the peak period for the absorption of potassium for varieties Faizipur 1-5 and S. B. XI was between grand growth stage and flowering and for variety C-501 this period was between flowering & pegging stage. The rest of the varieties showed maximum potassium absorption between pegging and maturity stage. However, variety H. G.-8 showed two peak periods of potassium absorption, from grand growth to flowering and from pegging to maturity stage and the percentage absorbed was 32.03 and 32.63 respectively.
