The yield of fruits of tomato variety ‘Marglobe’ was substantially increased by presowing seed soaking treatment with the growth regulator 100 ppm IAA, The significant increase in the yield was due to increase in number of fruits per plant. This is due to much increase in its growth and yield components like height, spread, number of branches, fresh weight and/or dry matter accumulation which apparently indicated more photosynthetic volume or surface of the plant thereby increasing the photosynthetic activities.
