Response of rhizobium culture inoculation, zinc and molybdenum application to soyabean (Glycine max Merill.)

An experiment was conducted with a view to find out whether Rhizobium culture inoculation alone or zinc and molybdenum (either separately or combined) alone or culture inoculations with zinc and molybdenum combined would give the most desirable result with soyabean in the soil conditions obtained here, It was observed that Rhizobium culture inoculations as such was not very effective with respect to plant growth, nodulation and grain yield unless supplied with zinc and molybdenum or both. Application of molybdenum was more effective than zinc. No additional benefit was recorded when zinc and molybdenum were combined as compared to the results obtained with zinc application.
