Abstract

Exogenous application of auxin (IAA) during grain setting leads to enhancement of grain yield of varieties with low 1000 grain weight, while application of GA3 improved grain yield through an increase of the number of grains of varieties possessing lower grain number. Thus, the regulatory role of growth regulating substances on grain yield is exerted via their influence either on grain setting or the ability of the grain to grow.
