Abstract

Contrasting pattern in the activity of acid and alkaline phosphatase in pulp (issue during ripening of fruits of Litchi chinensis Sonn. has been observed. Development of acid phosphatase parallels the respiratory climacteric, while alkaline phosphatase undergoes rather a steep decline. Over-ripe litchi follows an erratic trend.
