Abstract

Pollen grains of Regal lily can be stored in deep freeze without loss of viability or vigour for periods extending upto 12 months, beyond which further storage results in loss of their germination capacity, as also vigour, in terms of elongation of their pollen tubes. They, however, loose viability in 10 months if stored with anthers (in situ) in the deep freeze.
