Experiments were conducted to assess the effect of sulphur fertilization on Zea maize Var. Ganga, 101 under irrigated conditions, for three consequtive years i.e. 1973, 1974 and 1975 on the two fields of two different farmers in Butrada Village. The two different ‘Chaks’ of sandy soil were applied with four different sulphur fertilizers in order to supply the different amounts of sulphur in different years @ 15, 30, 45 lbs/acre in 1973, 10, 20, 30, lbs/acre in 1974 and 10, 20, 30, 40, lbs/acre in 1975] Ammonium sulphate and potassium magnesium sulphate were not included in the year 1974 and 1975 respectively. All the sulphur supplying fertilizers were equally effective in regard to yield in corn. It was concluded that sulphur response on irrigated corn in the sandy soil of Butrada village of Muzaffamagar District can be expected in terms of increased yield under the soil conditions where organic matter and extractable sulphates were low.
