Abstract

A study, taken on chlorophyll content in leaves of rice seedlings under low temperature regime, revealed that the total chlorophyll content gradually decreases with fall of temperature. Phenotypic score on greenness of leaves and its relationship with total chlorophyll content did not exhibit a clear trend. However, under low temperature regime, a high ratio Chi. a: Chi. b indicaled that production of chlorophyll ‘b’ suffered more with decline in temperature.
