Endogenous levels of phytohormones were determined in healthy and immature open bolls of the same age in Gossypium hirsutum var. F-414 by GLC. Higher content of ABA was recorded in the immature open bolls as compared with healthy bolls of the same age. On the contrary, IAA was more in healthy bolls. Gibberellins were slightly more in immature open bolls.
