Abstract

The salt glands on leaves of Diplachna fusca are reported. The presence of pore in each gland suggests that the salts are excreted through these pores. The excretion of salts was found to be highly selective for sodium and chloride. The glands also excrete potassium, calcium and magnesium. The order of preference regarding cations was found as Na+>K+>Ca++>Mg++.
