Abstract

Effect of Metasystox** (a systemic insecticide) and Cuman-L*** (Ziram based organic fungicide) on seed germination, reducing sugar content and on amylase activity was studied. Metasystox inhibited seed germination at all the doses, viz., 0.6, 0.08, 0.10 and 0.15%. Treatments of Metasystox also inhibited reducing sugar content and amylase activity. The treatments of Cuman-L, on the other hand, had no or little effect on seed germination, reducing sugar content and amylase activity.
