Relative photosynthetic contribution of leaves and pod wall of two cultivars of chickpea, E-100Y and H-214 differing in seed weight was studied. Leaves and pod wall of high yielding cultivar, E-100Y had high photosynthetic rate and more RuBP carboxylase activity during the period ot seed development than the cultivar H-214.
