Investigations were carried on six promising genotypes of mungbean (Vigna radiata (L) Wilczeck) with the object of knowing precisely the extent of flower production/shedding arid their yield potential: The genotypes differed greatly as regards the extent of flower production shedding arid grain yield. In general the genotypes having higher potential for flower production also showed more number of flower shed but this was not found true when the data are represented on per cent basis, indicating differential behaviour of different genotypes in terms of source-sink relations. Source was found to be limiting in some genotypes only. Genotypes H 242 and H 235 were found to be the best of all in performance in terms of all the characters studied including yield.
