Kinetics of ³⁵S uptake in sugarcane

Kinetics of ³⁵S uptake was studied in excised shoot roots in three sugarcane cultivars Co 419, Co 997 and Co 1148 in relation to concentration. There were at least four distinct phases in uptake in the concentration range from 0.01 mM to 5.00 mM. At higher concentration ranges, cultivars did not differ in kinetics of ³⁵S uptake. However, at lower concentrationts Co 1148 was more efficient in ³⁵S uptake compared to Co 419 and Co 997.
