Abstract

The present in investigation deales with the effect of different concentrations of nickel on chlorophyll formation, total chlorophyll and chlorophyll a/b ratio in excised and intact cotyledons of a cucurbit Luffa aegyptiaca. The study reveal that nickel exerts concentration dependent effects. At lower nickel concentration there is marked promotion in chlorophyll contents whereas these are significantly inhibited at higher concentrations. These is no signiicant chang in ratio of Chl.a and Chl.b at defiesent concentration of nickel in excised and intact cotyledons.
