Abstract

The energy compartmentation in different parts of groundnut was found in ascending order as shell, kernel, stem and leaves during kharif (June-Oct.) season whereas during rabi- summer (Jan.-May) season the same order of partitioning was found as shell, stem, kernel and leaves. The energy conserving efficiency at SI, PI and FAR was found to be 0.54–100%, 1.09–2.00% and 1.43–2.40% respectively. The energy harvesting capacity of groundnut did not differ during kharif and rabi-summer seasons though the total dry matter production and leaf area index were significantly higher and solar-irradiation values were signiicanly lower during the former season.
