α-naphthol, salicylic acid and ferulic acid enhanced rooting of hypocotyl cuttings of Impatient balsamina L. The enhancement of rooting by these phenolic compounds appears to be dependent upon the endogenous levels of auxin and nutrition in the cuttings.
