Abstract

B-Naphthol, resorctaol, phloroglucinol and indole acetic acid (IAA) promote plumule growth at 10 and 100 mg/1 and radicle growth at 10 mg/1 concentration in Cicer airetinum L. Resorcinol and phloroglucinol at 10 and 100 mg/1 increase while IAA at all used concentrations retarded lateral root development. 500 mg/1 of all used chemicals retard plumule and radicle growth and lateral root development. 10 and 100 mg/1 of IAA synergise the action of used low concentrations of phenols, while the same antagonise its higher concentrations for plumule growth. For radicle growth higher concentrations of both were synergistic.
