Growth and yield parameters were studied after irrigation at 90, 120 and 90+120 days in chickpea. The dry matter accumulation in leaves and stem per meter row length increased from 60 DAS upto 120 DAS. There was no significant difference among all the treatments at all the stages of crop growth, except at 120th day. Irrigation at 90 days and 90+120 days significantly had higher dry matter accumulation in pods in comparison to other treatments. The number of pods were larger in irrigation treatment of 90 and 90+120 days when sampled at 120 DAS. The CGR increased most in irrigation treatments of 90 days when sampled at 90+120 and 121–150 DAS. The mean RGR decreased whereas NAR increased with the advancement of growth stage. There was no significant difference in LAR among all the treatments and at any growth stage. All the grain contributing parameters, except straw yield, revealed highest value in irrigation at 90 days. Thus, irrigation at 90 DAS has been found to be most beneficial in chickpea under Pantnagar (Tarai) conditions.
