LAI gradually decreased with the delay in sowing. Irrespective of date of sowing, LAI continued to increase during the reproductive phase. Both NAR and RGR show higher values at initial stage of crop growth. In first two dates of sowing, the values were lower during flowering and pod development stage. But later sowings markedly enhanced NAR and RGR during reproductive phase. Irrigation in general and 45-days in particular enhanced these attributes during reproductive phase more so in delayed sowing. The different irrigation levels also improved the architecture as compared to unirrigated treatments.
