Variations in chlorophyll contents of one tropical (A. scoparia), two subtemperate (A. vulgaris and A. parvi flora) and one temperate (A. vestita) species of Artemisia were studied at 550 m and 3600 m altitude in Garhwal Himalaya. The study reveals that irrespective of the position of leaves, chlorophyll a/b ratio in all species was higher in the plants grown at 3600 m and the differences in chlorophyll a/b ratio at two altitudes were less in temperate species than in other species.
