Effect of seed treatment with etheral has been studied on total lipids, lipases and total sugars in soybean germinating under moisture stress. Etheral counteracted the adverse effects of water stress on acid lipase, alkaline lipase and sugars thereby increasing the depletion of lipids. The results suggest that etheral is involved in stress tolerance at the seedling stage
