Abstract
Out of the six species tested rooting was observed only in three high altitude species namely, B. edgeworthiama, B. kumaonensis and B. jaeschkeana, and that too 80 days after planting and showed seasonal trend. In rest of the species even after auxin treatment no rooting was observed. Again it seems that the effectiveness of the auxin differed from one species to another.
