Effect of seed treatment with etheral has been studied on seed germination and biochemical changes in soybean under moisture stress. Etheral counteracted the adverse effects of water stress on germination, vigour index, germination relative index, protease activity and total free amino acids. Etheral, thus, not only stimulates germination but also overcomes the inhibition caused by moistures stress and is therefore, involved in stress tolerance.
