Control of organogenesis in cultures of different vegetative explants of mexican tomato (Physalis ixocarpa brot.)

Different explant types of P. ixocarpa varied in their growth substance requirement for differentiation of shoot buds. Multilayered strip explants induced shoot buds with kinetin alone while stem internodal explains required BAP+IAA for the similar response. Leaf explants formed shoot buds with BAP alone. However, contradictory to earlier reports, in stem internodal explants GA₃ also induced shoot buds when used along with BAP.
