Abstract

Effect of mineral nutrients (N, K and Ca) deficiency on the pattern of plant growth in blackgram was studied in a pot culture experiment. Deficiency of N, K and Ca reduced plant height, dry matter production, leaf area per plant and crop growth rate significantly. Nitrogen deficiency severely decreased RGR and NAR, while Ca deficiency increased RGR and NAR compared to that of normal plants. However, potassium deficiency did not show any marked effect on RGR, NAR and RLGR.
