Abstract

The hypocotyl sections of french bean cultivar ‘Prechesor’ showed a log linear response to increase in concentration for five cytokinins, namely, zeatin riboside, zeatin, isopentenyl adenosine, isopentenyl adenine and kinetin. Of the cytokinins tested the sensitivity of the bioassay was higher for zeatin riboside and zeatin than the rest at low concentrations. In addition to linearity of log10 transformed data the french bean hypocotyl bioassay showed low variability and rapidity.
