Abstract

A study of correlations between growth components in 3 cukivars of ield pea (Pisum sativum Linn. var. arvensis) has revealed that CGR was correlated positively with LA and NAR while its association with LWR and SLA was of negative nature. RGR was found correlated positively with LAR and NAR while LAR was correlated positively with LWR and SLA. PAR and temperature as well influenced growth analysis components; PAR was correlated positively with CGR, LA and NAR white its relationship with RGR, LAR, LWR and SLA was of negative mature. On the other hand, temperature was correlated positively with CGR, LA and NAR and negatively with LAR, LWR and SLA. It is suggested that improvement in biomass production could be achieved through enhancement of leaf area partitioning, leaf thickness and its conductance.
