Two field experiments were conducted, during 1982–83 and 1983–84, on a sandy loan soil to study the effect of nitrogen application, in absence and presence of FYM, on P and K concentration in leaves, petioles, haulms (foliage) and tubers of potato plant at different periods of plant growth. The increase in the rate of applied nitrogen significantly decreased P concentration in petioles and K concentration in petioles, haulms and tubers, however, it did not significantly effect P concentration in leaves, haulms and tubers and K. concentration in leaves. The effect of increase in applied N on P and K concentration of potato plant parts was more pronounced in the absence of FYM.
