An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of benzyladenine (BA) and urea on growth and yield of sunflower (Var. EC 68414). BA (50 and 100ppm) and urea (0.5 per cent) were applied in the form of foliar spray in a single or in repeated applications at different stages of growth and development. Application of BA and urea enhanced the green leaf area and top dry weight. At harvest, there were also increases in head weight, seed weight per plant and 100 seed weight by both BA and urea application. More pronounced effect were noted when BA was applied at 30,60 and 90 days after sowing.
