Plants of gram (Cicer arietinum var. H-355) were sprayed with either CCC or B-Nine solution. A week later, these were subjected to 12 days of waterlogging.
Waterlogging decreased the diy weight of the root and shoot, the number of branches and the chlorophyll content of leaves. Flooding also decreased the rates of respiration and photosynthesis. The abscission of leaves and the protein content increased. Some of the deleterious effects of waterlogging were relieved with the application of CCC.
