* S.P. Mathur,
Seeds of two wheat varieties HD-2160 and Sonalika exposed to dielectric heating in the microwave range at three frequencies 9.5, 9.6 and 10.0 GHz for 12.5 and 25 minutes were tested for germination, internal stem resistance, plant height and initial biomass in a series of pot experiments conducted at Indian Agricultural Resarch Institute, New Delhi. It was observed thai the microwave. heating at 9.5 GHz frequency for 12.5 minutes was more effective than the others resulting in higher germination, growth and biomass production.
