Abstract

Mineral constituents in the seeds of pea and chickpea cultivars, that differ in susceptibility under iron-stress, have been worked out. Seeds of the susceptible genotypes, in both pea and chickpea, showed an accumulation of P and a high P/Fe ratio in comparison to the resistant ones, which appears to be an important factor governing the differential performance of genotypes under iron-stress.
