Among different crops viz. maize, sorghum, rice, cowpea. rice bean, green-gram, blackgram and sesamum, the highest growth and growth efficiency of seedlings and lowest respiratory loss of seed reserve was recorded in rice bean during germination, however, the reverse trend was observed in rice.
