Abstract

A pot experiment using wheat Var, Raj-911 was conducted with six presoaking seed treatments viz., distilled water, IAA (200 ppm), IBA (200 ppm), NaaSOi (3 per cent) Ca(NO3)2 (3%) plus pyridoxin (0.3%) and no-soaking (Control); and 4 levels of soil sodicity (ESP 14.4, 31.5, 42,0 and 55.0) to find out their effect on crop growth and nutrient uptake. Almost all the presoaking treatments increased the plant height, tillering, grain and straw yield and content of N.P.K and Ca in the grain and straw while decreased the Na content as compared to no-soaking. Presoaking with IAA, IBA and Na2SO4 proved better than others.
