Abstract

The effect of benzyladenine (BA) foliar application was investigated on protease and nitrogen fractions in leaves of sunflower. The application of BA at both 50 and 100 ppm concentration delayed the loss of chlorophyll, decreased protease activity and enhanced the soluble protein and amino nitrogen content in the older leaves particularly situated at the basal parts of the stem which senescence early.
