Abstract

Two mung bean varieties, Pusa-101 (tolerant) and ML-5 (susceptible) were studied to observe the effect of salinity on two Krebs cycle enzymes during the early seedling stage. The activities of succinic dehydrogenase (SDH) and malic dehydrogenase (MDH) decreased with increasing salinity level in susceptible variety, whereas in tolerant variety. SDH activity decreased but reverse trend was noted for MDH activity.
