Effect of abscisic acid (ABA) and triadimefon on the water balance and nitrate and carbon assimilation processes of tolerant (C 306, NI 5439 and Hindi 62) and susceptible (HD 2329) wheat genotypes under moisture stress condition was studied. ABA and triadimefon treatments increased stomatal diffusive resistance and decreased the rate of transpiration under moisture stress. Both the growth regulators increased the chlorophyll content, rate of photosynthesis and nitrate reductase activity under stress. In general tolerant genotypes responded better to ABA and triadimefon than the susceptible genotypes.
