Gibberellin activity during fruit development in acid lime was low till 20 days after fruit set, high between 40 and 100 days and steeply declined at the later stages. The period of high gibberellin activity in the fruit broadly coincided with that of the rapid fruit growth between 40 and 120 days. There was remarkable increase in two polar gibberellins at 80 and 100 day fruit growth. The normal and rudimentary ovaries of acid lime lowers showed similar gibberellin activity.
