Abstract

Certain amino acids applied exogenously to Cucumis sativus L. hypocotyl cuttings at specific levels caused earliness in rooting and also increased number of roots per cuttings. Aspartic acid, arginine, ghitamine, tryptophan and phenylalanine promoted rooting, valine and threonine suppressed it while methionine and lysine inhibited rooting at higher concentrations.
