Arachis hypogea (G2) was germinated in presence of 5x10-4 M CdCl2. There was considerable inhibition of germination. RNA content in root and cotyledon increased compared to control. Estimation of pure RNA in presence of Cd Cl2 indicated the possibility of Cd++ binding to RNA.
