Abstract

The height of 15, 30 and 45 day old rice seedlings increased with the duration of submergence due to fast elongation growth of leaf sheath. The dry weight of seedlings was reduced under submergence. The survival percent of seedlings increased with the age of seedlings and decreased with the duration of submergence. The tall varieties, CR 1030, IET 6205, FR 13A and Madhukar showed higher survival than semi tall Jagannath.
