Abstract

Effect of ionic osmotic stress with and without NaCl salinity was studied on two wheat varieties, Kharchia-65 and Kalyansona. Salt tolerant kharchia. 65, showed higher level of proline and leaf area growth particularly of root under stress condition. As compired to ionic osmotic stress, the iso-osmotic NaCl salinity proved to be less injurious.
