Abstract

Germination per cent of Albizzia lebbek seeds was lower in bold than in small seeds, while fresh and dry weight of cotyledons and axis per seedling was higher in the former. Protein content was lower and protease activity higher in the bold seeds after germination. The total concentration of protein amino acids was higher and free amino acid pool lower in bold seeds at all stages. Keto acid level was several fold higher in small seeds.
