Abstract

Among four bajra x napier hybrid and one napierx bajra hybrid grasses TNAU CN 2 had higher photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal frequency (SF) (abaxial and adaxial surfaces) and transpiration rate (TR). These parameters were significantly higher in the first season than in the other seasons. Seasonal influence was not significant for SF, TNAU CN 2 recorded the higher green matter yield (GMY) than other hybrids and GMY was highest in first season and lowest in second season.
