Effect of benzyladenine on nitrate reductase enzyme in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)

Abstract

An experiment was conducted with sunflower (c.v. EC 68415) in pot culture condition to study the influence of foliar application of benzyladenine on nitrate reductase activity and chlorophyll content in the leaves of sunflower. Results revealed that application of BA (50 ppm) at 30, 60 and 90 days after sowing maintained higher chlorophyll content and nitrate reductase activity during later stages (seed filling period) of plant development.
