Experiments were conducted in controlled growth chamber facilities to determine the effect of three temperature treatments (30/20°C, 30/30°C and 35/35°C day/night) on nitrate accumulation, water use and dry matter accumulation by solution grown corn (Zea mays L. C.V. XL-81) seedlings. Among the three temperature treatments 30/30°C recorded more nitrate uptake, and dry matter accumulation. Nitrate uptake, water use and dry matter accumulation are not directly related to each other.
